At the beginning of world war II, t-II light tanks accounted for 38% of the Wehrmacht's tank fleet. T-IIS was developed in 1937 and was the third serial modification of this machine. It differed from the previous variants power to 29-35 mm frontal armor, installation commander's turret and other minor changes. T-IIS tanks were used during the battles in France, as well as at the initial stage of the great Patriotic war. In 1942, t-II tanks were withdrawn from the tank regiments.
