Additional Information
the Panzer I formed the basis of German tank formations, but too light armor and armament meant that the tank was obsolete by the beginning of world war II. The Panzer I chassis was used to build many machines, including a self-propelled howitzer. The experience of military action showed that mobile artillery was able to provide valuable fire support to tank connections, this chassis was mounted 150mm infantry gun s.IG.33 and the machine received the designation of an s.IG.33 (Sf) auf Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.B. the Gun was mounted in a high angular superstructure, greatly overloading the tank chassis. The calculation of the gun was protected only by a 10mm armor plate, in addition the machine could not carry ammunition. The installation was not very successful, only 38 machines were converted. With the war's 150mm gun.IG.33 gun was mounted on the other chassis.
