the Armored personnel carrier Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.D mass-produced since mid-1943. From its predecessors, it was distinguished by a simplified design of the body, consisting of fewer parts. However, some frontal details slightly increased its thickness. Despite the processing of the body, the layout of the machine and the composition of the various units remained the same. The engine and transmission units were placed in the front engine compartment of small size. Behind the engine compartment was a large storage compartment for the accommodation of the crew and troops. The basis for the specialized armored vehicle was the average half-track armored vehicle Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251. This combat vehicle was produced in series from the late thirties and was well mastered by the troops. On its basis, a significant number of vehicles for various purposes, including ACS with weapons of different types, have already been produced. Now BTR Sd.Kfz.251 was supposed to be a medium anti-tank gun 7,5 cm PaK 40. Such weapons still had enough performance and was able to hit the enemy armored vehicles.
