To the occupation of Czechoslovakia in March 1939 only ten new LTvz. 38 was built for the Czech army. Germany quickly appreciated the quality of the design of the tank and requested to continue the production of the Panzer 38(t). The chassis was used to create a Marder III tank destroyer with a captured Soviet gun 7.62 cm PaK 36(r).When the Soviet gun stocks came to an end Marder was equipped with a German 7.5 cm PaK 40/3 L/46. The car was produced in November 1942 to April 1943 on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf. H.
