Additional Information
the Tracked 25-inch SP Sexton was a world war II self-propelled artillery vehicle. It was based on canadian-derived American m3 Lee and M4 Sherman chassis that were put into production in Canada as the Ram and Grizzly. When Sherman production in the US expanded and supplies ceased to be an issue, in 1943 it was decided to switch canadian production lines to Sexton production to give the British army a mobile artillery gun using their Ordnance QF 25 cannon howitzer, which could fire an 87.6 mm (3.45 in) 11.5 kg (25 lb) firearm or armor-piercing projectile. It found use in the canadian and British armies, as well as in many other British Empire and associated forces. Immediately after the war, several Grizzlies and sextons were sold to Portugal, which used them in the 1980s.< / p> < p>the Sexton II added boxes to the rear platform to carry the batteries and an auxiliary generator to charge them.
