Tiger I, produced since the second half of 1943, had the same body as the first machines used in North Africa and Russia. Rollers originally the tank had a rubber bezel, this detail was abandoned in February 1944. The tank was equipped with a new tower with more protection and a new commander's turret. In addition, some tanks were equipped with a dust filter and a device for launching smoke grenades. Since August 1944, the tanks were covered with a special paste against magnetic mines, later this coating will become standard for all tanks in Germany.
