Additional Information
the Famous American Sherman tank was an important part of the lend-lease supply program. The modification of the M4A2 with GM diesel engine was rejected by the us army as most of the cars had a diesel engine and the adoption of this modification would make it difficult to supply fuel. Instead, tanks were supplied to the USSR and The Commonwealth countries. For the Soviet Union, whose T-34 was equipped with a diesel engine, there was no problem with the type of engine. More than 4,000 vehicles were delivered from 1942 to 1944. 2000 of them were armed with 76 mm guns with special ammunition.
