Puma is a family of light wheeled armored vehicles developed in 4x4 and 6x6 configurations by the Italian company Iveco Fiat. Puma was developed for the Italian army as an addition to the Centauro tank destroyer. Iveco Fiat won the contract for the production of combat vehicles in various versions. By the end of 1999, the Italian army ordered 580 Puma cars of which 250 6x6 and 330 4x4. The first production machine was assembled in mid-2003. The first combat use took place in early 2005 in southern Iraq.
