After the conflict with Egypt in 1967, Israel, among other captured equipment had a large number of Egyptian T-55. Many of them were fully functional or had minor damage. Since Israel was in dire need of military equipment, many tanks were put into service after a deep modification. The main improvements were the installation of 105mm Western-style guns, transmission, engine, fire control, night vision, rangefinder, machine guns, several containers and additional armor. At the moment, the tank is completely replaced by more modern models.
