the BTR-60 is the first vehicle in the series of Soviet eight-wheeled armored transporters. Construction began in the late 1960s to replace the BTR-152, first shown to the public in 1961. The order to supply the BTR-60P to the Soviet army was delivered on December 13, 1959. Nevertheless, the mass intake began in 1960, in the same year the first BTR-60P were delivered. In the early sixties, the machine completely replaced the BTR-152 with the role of the main BMP. In the future, a large number of BTR-60P was converted into repair and auxiliary machines.
