the T-62 was Originally conceived as a companion weapon to the T-55, which is essentially the T-55, perfected with the 115mm 2a20 gun. Both the T-55 and T-62 used the same wheels, engine, transmission, hatches and other fittings. The main differences between the two cars were the elongated body of the T-62 and the new design of the tower. The new ut-5 gun could fire BR-5 APFSDS around approximately 300mm armor with a range of 1000 meters.
