Currently, the most powerful Slovak aircraft is the newly upgraded supersonic MiG-29. The MiG-29 was manufactured in the former Soviet Union in the first half of the 1970s as a counterweight to the new American F-16 and F / A-18.As the power plant of the aircraft was chosen a pair of engines RD-33 with maximum thrust and afterburner 81.40 kN. The first prototype took off on October 6, 1977. The fighter was gradually upgraded and turned into a multi-purpose aircraft capable of delivering accurate strikes on ground targets. The latter types are still being produced.
