Additional Information

Il-2, equipped with NS-37 guns, was widely used during the battle of Kursk. Especially effective was the use of Il-2 NS-37 against clusters of armored vehicles and infantry of the enemy. Shells powerful 37mm guns were able to hit the most modern enemy tanks. The bomb charge of the Il-2 aircraft included up to 192 bombs. Hit at least one such bomb in the enemy tank led to its destruction.
