"Jagdpanther" is constructed on the basis of the tank "Panther" Panzerkampfwagen V Ausf. G and has a layout close to the layout of the Soviet ACS SU-85 (low body perfect configuration). For heavy machines "Jagdpanther" had good speed and permeability. On the other hand, the self-propelled gun inherited from the base machine a number of disadvantages, primarily low mechanical reliability and relatively thin side armor.
