Leopard 2E is made on the basis of Leopard 2A, and includes improvements to the wedge-shaped armor on the tower. The Leopard 2E increased the thickness of the armor on the frontal part of the hull, the turret frontal arc and the roof of the tower, resulting in a vehicle weight close to 69.4 tons. All Leopard 2E are manufactured in Spain, a subsidiary of General Dynamics.
