on 22 may 1939, the first nine LT vz production tanks left the gates of the Prague chkd plant.38, renamed for the German classification of Panzer. 38 (t). None of the tank LT vz.38 did not have time to enroll in the Czechoslovak army until the German conquest of Bohemia and Moravia.
First Panzer. 38 (t) were used in combat during the 1939 Polish campaign. These tanks also fought in France in 1940 and in the Balkans in 1941. According to the Barbarossa plan, the Germans put 664 tanks of this type against the Soviet Union, which formed the basis of the 7th, 8th, 12th, 19th and 20th tank divisions of the Wehrmacht. During the war these tanks were exported to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.
a Total of 1414 PzKpfw tanks were produced. 38 (t) - LT vz.38, the last modification of which was PzKpfw. 38 (t) Ausf.G. in Addition, their chassis produced self-propelled artillery "Grille" and anti-tank "Marder III". In may 1942 their production was stopped.
