Additional Information
field Marshal von Manstein described this self-propelled gun as "the best means of supporting infantry." In the red army it was called "artshturm" and hated no less than the "tigers" – this squat unobtrusive machine with a powerful gun and good armor protection was extremely dangerous opponent. "Artshturm" or more correctly "Sturmgeschutz" (Sturmgeshutz – "assault gun") is considered to be the most universal and massive self-propelled gun of the Wehrmacht; moreover, the most common German armored vehicle of world war II.
