In 2001, India purchased 310 T-90S, the tanks were delivered fully assembled, partially, and completely disassembled. In 2006, a contract was signed for the licensed production of tanks in India. The Indian modification of the Bishma is named after the character of the ancient Indian epic, the development was carried out in close cooperation with Russian and French experts. The tank was constantly subjected to modifications, modern technologies of French, Russian and Israeli production are installed on the machine.
