Additional Information

This modification of the well-known APC was unique to 
Limited contingent of Soviet troops in the Republic of Afghanistan. 
The guerrilla nature of the fighting has exposed the vulnerability of Armored vehicles from the fire manual 
anti-tank weapons and mines dushmanov. To increase firepower 
directly the troops on the tower BTR welded heavy grenade launcher AGS-17, and 
on top of the body mounted water tanks and a spare wheel, which 
created additional protection against bullets and splinters.
