German motorcycle of BMW concern –,P12 –,was produced from 1935 to 1942. During this period, built more than 36,000 BMW R-12 (3607 Zvezda) in military and civilian versions. The sports version of the R-12 set a speed record of 279.5 km/h, which lasted for 14 years! Due to the high reliability at a much lower, compared with special army motorcycles BMW R-75 and KS-750 price, BMW R-12 became the most popular motorcycle in the German army. On R-12 delivered ammunition and hot food, evacuated to the rear of the wounded, delivered reports, went to investigate: it is difficult to list all the army specialties of this machine. In addition, the BMW R-12 (3607 Zvezda) was massively used as a means of combat in special motorcycle units, where a wheelchair mounted machine gun.
