Pyotr Afanasievich Pokryshev is one of the most famous Soviet ACE pilots of the great Patriotic war. He fought near Leningrad, in the Baltic States and East Prussia. August 24, 1943 he was awarded the title of twice Hero of the Soviet Union. On the Yak-7B fighter with the Board number "33" P. A. Pokryshev fought as part of the 29th guards fighter aviation regiment on the Leningrad front in 1943. Major P. A. Pokryshev made about 350 sorties, personally shot down 31 German aircraft and 7 – in the group.
