Wessex - modification of the Sikorsky S-58, produced under license in the UK. Unlike the basic model, the piston engine was replaced by a turboprop engine. The first flight of the prototype - in 1957 serial production began in 1960 also produced transport modification of the helicopter Wessex. Some of the helicopters were exported.
British Wesex took part in the 1982 Falklands conflict.
