April 23, 1976 in Novosibirsk was first tested prototype U-58 TM, later the aircraft was redirected for further testing in Zhukovsky, by November 25, 1976, the tests were completed. U-58TM had a military designation su-15 UM and factory designation product-43. It was a two-seat, training aircraft, created on the basis of the su-15 TM late release. Unlike the su-15 UT, where the fuselage was extended for the co-pilot, the length of the su-15 UM remained unchanged. The changes also did not affect the internal fuel tank, only some internal equipment was donated to accommodate the co-pilot. Su-15 MIND had no radar, but could take guided missiles and cannon weapons. A small series was produced from 1976 to 1979.
