the MiG 3 was the result of a program to improve the MiG-1. Production began in December 1940. Delivery to the front occurred in April 1941. Serial production took place until the last weeks of 1941, when it was discontinued due to interruptions in the supply of the AM-35A engine. Mass-produced 3120 aircraft, another 50 assembled from parts available at the plant in the first half of 1942.
