FIREFLY is a British two-man naval gunman who saw active service in world war II and the Korean war. Designed and manufactured by Fairey Aviation Company, the prototype first flew on December 22, 1941. Deliveries of Firefly Mark I began in March 1943. The aircraft were assigned to the 1770 naval aviation squadron, an air force fleet launched in 1944 in the new fleet of the aircraft carrier HMS Indefatigable. the First battle of Firefly was in July 1944 against the German battleship Tirpitz anchored in the Norwegian fjord.
