the History of the heavy howitzer SKODA M. 1917 begins in the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. During the First world war six of these howitzers were used by the Austro-Hungarian army. The ninth, under the designation M. 1917 was built after the war. Before world war II, the German army became interested in siege howitzers, after testing M. 1917 was used in the attack on France.
