KV - the first Soviet heavy single-turret serial tank with anti-armor. KV-2 was designed to break through heavily fortified defensive strips by destroying bunkers and bunkers direct fire. Developed in Leningrad at the Kirov plant under the leadership of Zh. Ya. Kotin. The first tank was made in February 1940. the Peculiarity of this machine was the installation in the tower of increased size (compared to the KV-1) 152-mm howitzer M-10 arr. 1938-40. Ammunition consisted of 36 shots of separate loading. Weight - 52 tons, power reserve - 20 km/h, crew 6 people. KV-2 was mass-produced until the second half of 1941 it took part in defensive battles of the initial period of the great Patriotic War.
