BT-42 Finnish assault gun based on captured tank BT-7 model 1937 Standard turret BT-7 has undergone serious alteration. In tower was installed the English 4.5-inch (114-mm) howitzer QF.MK.II (Finnish designation 114 P 18). The howitzers were equipped with a muzzle brake of the original Finnish design. Just upgraded to 18 aircraft. The latter was released in the autumn of 1943. All BT-42 brought in formed December 7, 1943 a separate armored car. A separate armored vehicle used its BT-42 in the Vyborg area (especially in the battle for the city itself) until its delivery. From 17 to 21 June 1944 have been lost 8 assault guns BT-42.
