9A52-2 Tornado-M – Soviet MLRS designed to defeat enemy personnel, armored targets, artillery positions, command posts and other enemy targets. The unit was created in the early 1980s and adopted by the Soviet army in 1989. When the technique was seen by the West, it was assigned code MRL 280mm M1983. It is expected that the "Tornado" will be replaced by 9A52-4 Tornadoes.
the First foreign customer of 9A52 was Kuwait, which purchased 27 MLRS, the second "customer" was the UAE, and the system was purchased by China.
