In late 40's in Germany on base of linear tanks was developed a new kind of combat machines - assault tools. They were intended for direct support of infantry units on the battlefield, for the destruction of fire points and enemy tanks. The assault gun was created on the basis of the T-III tank, on which a 75 mm gun was installed in the closed cabin.
