Additional Information
Mitsubishi A6M Zero ("A" - fighter; "6" - model; "M" - Mitsubishi) is a Japanese light carrier-based fighter of the Second World War. Produced from 1940 to 1945, a total of 10,939 units were built. In January 1940, the first A6M2, powered by the Sakae 12 engine, flew. The additional engine power significantly improved the aircraft's performance compared to the original requirements. The A6M2 first began flying combat missions in August 1940 over Chongqing Province. The Soviet I-16 and I-153 fighters, which were a serious problem for the A5M, posed no threat to the Zero. So, in one battle, 13 “Zeros” suddenly attacked a large group of Chinese I-15 and I-16, in half an hour, destroying 27 of them, without losses to themselves. After such favorable reports, the navy ordered the aircraft to be put into mass production. The model is built from a Tamiya kit, scale 1:48. The model has simulated soot and scuffed paint. Painting was done with RealColor acrylic paints from AK.Related Products
