Douglas A-3 “Skywarrior” was a strategic nuclear bomber developed for the US Navy. The aircraft has folding wings for storage below deck, a radar-controlled turret and a crew of three. The a-3 Skywarrior project was launched in 1947, the first prototype, the XA3D-1, took off on 28 October 1952, the aircraft was adopted in 1956, and production ceased in 1961. In total, Douglas built 282 Skywarrior.
