the Korean indigenous K1A1 MBT is an update version of the arms of the K1 MBT. Korea has produced about 1000 K1 MBT since 1987. K1 has much greater firepower, armor, power plant, than T-72 / T-62 MBT of North Korea, but the firepower of the infantry cannon of 105 mm, insufficient for solving the problem of the 21st century MBT. K1A1 has a 120mm smoothbore gun, licensed version of the m256 M1A2 MBT gun. The fire control system, GPTTS, is manufactured by Texas Instruments and provides excellent accuracy of firepower. K1A1 is developed by Hyundai Heavy Industry. Will the Korean army K1A1 in 2000.
