the Tankt-72A was in mass production from 1979 to 1985. The tank was exported to many countries. In addition to the Soviet production of the T-72A was deployed b India, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia. For the first time in battle, these tanks visited in 1982 as part of the Syrian army during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. Syrian President X. Assad in an interview said: "the Tank type T-72 - the best in the world" - stressing that the Israeli tankers failed to knock out any such machine.
