Being a modification of the T-72 TANK, the E-72B3 replaced the older T-72, and became the main addition to the OBT of the T-90 family. Over the years, Russian tanks E-72B3 actively participated in various military exercises, parades. In 2015 and 2016, twice participated in the military sports games "Tank biathlon", and competed with the Chinese tank ZTZ-96A. In addition, judging by some publications in the press and the Internet, some number of T-72B3 tanks inexplicably got to Ukraine, where they were used during the civil conflict, and by both warring parties. At the same time, it was reported that at least 2 or 3 tanks were damaged, and one was completely destroyed. Although the official authorities of the Russian Federation deny the participation of Russian troops in the fighting in Ukraine, but we can not deny the fact that the T-72B3 tanks during the fighting showed good survivability, ensured the survival of the crews, as well as demonstrated the high efficiency of the modernized weapons complex.
